Time and tide wait for no man. Strike while the school is hot!!!

Dear health team,

Which school to decide on?

I have read through the various suggestions and input. The main issue is to buffering the school’s time and ours, so that all will work out well for BOTH. No need to feel bad being “unethical” or faking a bit…It’s all part of the game I suppose, and if this works out, and no one is harmed, why not? As what Shaun said before…One usually sends out multiple resumes, to see if they can net any fish. If two big fish arrives, we have to reject one…It’s completely ok.

With regards to Irene’s suggestions, many things are really left up to our own choice and actions. But we also are constrained by TIME itself. Using Miss Liew as our third party, follow up emails etc is good enough. These are all meant to buy a bit of time etc.

To keep schools from backing out, email correspondence from us to them is sufficient to be a legal binding “contract”. =-p

I am for Chen Meihui’s idea of replying the schools when ALL possible presentations ended. Again…Buffering is at work here!!!

Remember, it’s a process oriented approach here that we are doing, so we will actually not know what is going to happen on the ground when we pitch to the schools.

Writing wise

Irene’s suggestions are ok.

Shaun or Audrey, would you kindly put up what you have discussed for the executive summary last thurs? I think you all talked about the headings etc? would you have that file on hand.

Write in a process oriented approach… Starting from that Miss Liew’s reason for us to use back the previous schools is to assess sustainability and renewed interest. Well, we found out not all schools are keen this time. Insert some learning points like how I did in this blog. Then we will write how we sourced fro schools, difficulties, and more learning points. I also mentioned before the others did in chapters, which is more systematic and simpler. As long as chapter one is beefed up, we can go on to chapter two. Soon, we will have completed writing a course pack! Haha.

Writers may want to refer to Miss Liew’s work assessment areas below for possible writing chapters and categories noting the weight age on different areas:

•Conduct research to identify and assess health issue of concern to identified group 10%
•Develop method to ensure participatory monitoring & evaluation and sustainability of program 25%
•Prepare, submit proposal & obtain funding from YAH Program of Health Promotion Board 25%
•Implement proposed plan, monitor and evaluate success of program 20%

Team issues

I am cool with all of you wonderful people man! Really, this is not an advertising line. We can’t expect all to have the same timetables and free times. If you have lessons, go for it. Not to worry. I am already happy that we coincidently take many same modules, and thus 95% can devote thurs and fri to meet up. Imagine if our members come from different faculties each!

Hmmm...shall we call ourselves..."Team Health-pers"...Sounds like "Helpers"...

Thanks for listening to my 2 cents,

Alvinz
